Helping Every Young Person Complete Their DofE Journey with Orbis Outdoor Adventures

Specialist DofE Support for Young People with Autism and Other Additional Needs

At Orbis Outdoor Adventures, we believe every young person should have the chance to take part in the Duke of Edinburghʼs Award. Our Specialist DofE Services are designed to support children and young people with autism and other additional needs, helping them complete their DofE in a way that works for them.

We know that a typical DofE programme doesnʼt suit everyone. Thatʼs why we take a flexible, calm, and supportive approach thatʼs built around the individual needs of each group. Whether your group is starting their Bronze Award or moving on to Silver or Gold, weʼll help plan and deliver a DofE experience thatʼs enjoyable, manageable, and rewarding.

Our friendly and experienced team understands how to support participants with a wide range of additional needs. We focus on clear communication, low-pressure environments, and simple, structured activities as part of their expedition module.

Young people can take part in outdoor activities like canoeing, walking, setting up camp, map reading, and cooking – all at a pace that suits them. Everything is planned with care, making sure each participant feels included, safe, and supported throughout.

We work closely with schools, parents, carers, and support staA to make sure the programme is a good fit.

What our clients are saying

In 2020, when it was too challenging to take children on school trips, we booked Orbis Outdoor Adventures to come to our school with archery, climbing, forestry and bumper ball activities. It made our year!

Rode Heath Primary School

Orbis team made the nervous children feel at ease and encouraged them to take each and every step along with assisting the most confident of climbers to push themselves further.  During the event, the communication was fantastic too! We highly recommend Orbis, we have already booked them for our next event!

Thank you Mick!

Client

Everybody Health & Leisure have been using Orbis for the past couple of years to deliver activities as part of our Ability for All programme and would recommend them to deliver group activities. Whether it’s bushcraft activities or the mobile climbing wall nothing is too much trouble for Mick and his team to make sure our SEND families can take part and have a go at the activity.

Everybody Health & Leisure

Mick and all the crew were superb! I cannot thank them enough for the brilliant residential they provided. From minute one, they had all the time in the world for all the children and staff. The memories the children made are directly off the back of their hard work and creativity will be treasured forever! I would recommend highly!
